UCLA: Bike Repair Station

I have been hearing rumors of these bike repair station on UCLA’s campus (Near the Strathmore Building on Westwood Plaza) and have been meaning to check them out. Dana posted this photo to her FB wall this morning, and I had to share. Solid work UCLA! Me thinks USC and LACC need to step up to the plate now.

I got some glamour shots of Hern from the Tuesday night sprints this week. I had read PC’s post about the new T-Level Riding Parka earlier that day and hours later here is Hern wearing it. I checked it out and damn, it’s a nice jacket…

Winter Series 2012: Race #3: Results

The Sprints are in the bag… Twenty guys came out, to go head to head in Elysian park last night. The first round consisted of drawing names out of hat and about a 200 meter sprint. That knocked it down to ten, who then went on to next round which was an up hill sprint at about 250 meters on steady but not hard incline, a gradual climb, really. Knocked down to five, our friend and state champ Tony Z stepped in to round out the numbers to six (just back from a broken collar-bone, amazeballs).

Then came the finals. Top three sprinters put it all on the line and went head to head to head. Pnutt, Fabian and James Z.

In the end, James Z took home $80 dollars for his effort, and it was a pretty great series of sprints last night.

Congrats to the top doggs last night, James, Fabian and PNutt!

I’m thinking this might be a weekly thing… Stay tuned.

This Friday is the last race of the Winter Series and it’s an Alleycat. All bikes welcome, and it’s for prizes!

You remember this teaser I posted about handmade headbadges? Well, Angel finally got her etsy up and running and there some goods up for sale. Great looking Bicycle Tokens and llustrated artwork by an old friend. I have always dug her illustrations and it’s pretty cool to see her growth as an artist. I’m pretty proud of Angel and you guys should support her!
