Our friends and Supporters, Affinity Cycles have teamed up Reakwon the Chef to help aid those affected by Hurricane Sandy. This is pretty amazing and I hope the builds go for a pretty penny. Good work guys. Wu-tang is for everyone.
Affinity and Raekwon are working in conjunction wit Ride4NY, a New York City based cycling initiative formed with the intent to raise awareness, fundraising, rebuilding strategies for those hit hardest by Hurricane Sandy. Ride4NY will be hosting a group ride this upcoming Saturday December 15th. More details to follow about the group ride. To register for the event, visit the Ride4NY website or on facebook at Ride4NY.
The bikes are being auctioned on Ebay beginning today, Monday December 10th and will end on Friday morning December 14th. All proceeds raised from each bike will go directly to the families directly affected by the storm in Staten Island, Redhook, Coney Island and Rockaway Beach.
Affinity Cycles and Raekwon from the Wu Tang Clan have come together to design 3 custom bikes to be auctioned off to aid those hit hardest by Hurricane Sandy. In typical Wu Tang black and yellow, these bikes feature some of New York Cities hardest hit areas, Staten Island, Rockaway, Red Hook and Coney Island.
In celebration of Ride4NY Raekwon is hosting a benefit concert this Thursday December 13th in Brooklyn at Jaguars 3 located at 225 47th St. betw. 2nd and 3rd ave.
The frame set is an Affinity Kissena with custom 88mm carbon rims hand laced to Gran Compe hubs. The winner can choose either tubular or clincher rims. Parts list includes, Affinity R/T crank set, Truvativ bb, Tange track bars, Thomson stem and seat post, All City track grips, Fizik Arione saddle, FSA headset, Conti tires, Mks pedals and clips, Toshi double straps.
This is a 5 day no reserve auction. Since this is a custom bike, the winner will choose their size Affinity Kissena frame, then the bike will be sent out for paint. Please expect 2 weeks to 1 month for paint and assembly. There will only be 3 of these bikes made, each is unique in its own right.
Hurricane Sandy hit New York City a little over a month ago, the majority of Rockaway and the hardest hit area of Staten Island are still with out power. We will be distributing the funds through grass roots relief efforts on Staten Island and Rockaway in the form of pre paid credit cards. Members of Ride4NY, Affinity and Raekwon will be hand delivering these pre paid credit cards door to door shortly after the auction, just in time for the holiday season.
If you’re in or around New York City this week, go to Ride4NY.org to register for the group ride, and be there this Thursday in Brooklyn for the benefit concert.
We have been getting tons of pictures of rider builds from around the globe. Nothing makes us happier than seeing an Affinity all built up looking slick. We like to be happy, so a contest is in order. Winner of the contest will get a Kissena Frameset from us. Here are the details:
1. Post your Affinity all built up on our Facebook Wall
2. Like Affinity Cycles on Facebook
3. Get your friends to “like” your picture
4. The most “likes” wins the Kissena frame set.
5. Contest ends next Monday at noon NYC time. Winner will be announced later that day.
Get at it folks, spread the good word and get your picture up!
Wednesday was the kick off for the RTBL summer series. The Whole (almost) LA CBNC team was out in effect. Enjoy these snaps of the Team.
Hot damn! Once we all get them built, we will drop a team shoot on our new whips from Affinity… I’m still waiting on two key items… Ugh!
Stolen off of Kelli’s instagram
Our frames from Affinity came yesterday… Super stoked on rider life right now and can’t wait to see all of the builds go down, then shred them. Here are a few canid shots of Ace, Riccardo and I picking up our new new. Kelli is building hers today, same with Ace and Riccardo, while I am waiting on a few key parts to arrive… Stay tuned.
Affinity is proud to officially release our Summer 2012 frame re-stock. Get on the latest batch of Lo Pro and Metro frame sets and complete builds while they last. Matte black, champagne money and chrome plated lo pro’s are looking sick, and our new Metro shouts NYC with liquid sparkle blue and orange decals. The frames are going fast and once they go, they are gone. Get at em, first come first serve.
As some of you might know by now, the CBNC Cycling Team is sponsored by Affinty Cycles. We have been shooting some edits of team members talking about the sponsorship and what it means to them. Since I had been riding (LA Drivers suck) a Lo-Pro and was one of the main organizers of this sponsorship, I get the first edit. I miss my Lo-Pro but can’t wait to race and shred on a Kissena and I’m very proud to be sponsored by Affinity. Be on the lookout for more edits on the team riders and how we build these awesome frames up. Thanks to Affinity, CBNC and huge thanks to Ace Carretero (thanks for making me look good).
