I met Shawn in person, briefly a last year at a WPH event, then I went up to Sacramento to go suffer in 100+ degree heat during his 100+ mile track race he threw in the middle of summer. He opened his door to myself and a few others from LA, showed us around and threw a really great event, which I’ll never forget. That’s one of the best parts of this “scene” or “sport”, finally meeting in person these dudes and ladies you see or read about online, during these street events and really making long term friends with them, not because we’re racing underground events (that’s part of it), but because we all have the same mind set, having fun on our bikes. Shawn is definitely one of those dudes, it’s been a pleasure to get to know him, and see that he loves to ride and rides to live, just like most of us.
Bike tours are a must. No matter what you ride, go out there and see your country by bike. It’s the best. I’m glad Shawn put this out for everyone to see and get inspired by. The road is calling…
Patrick has the web exclusive premiere of Pedal Hard’s No Coast film tomorrow! I have seen this film, (thanks Remy) and I’m stoked to see it again!
My legs still hurt.
Great edit, love the song choice. I gotta make it to one of these Pedal Hard events.
The guys from Pedal Hard rode from from P-town to SF last year. Seven Days, 804 Miles no coasting… you can celebrate the release of No Coast 2012 on May 11th at 9pm Hot Italian on 16th st in Sacramento!
